Swami Sankarananda Boy's Hostel
A Students hostel was attached to the Boys High School on 26.6.1939 to provide educational facilities to the students of outlaying areas of the State. For long, the Hostel did not have a building of its own. In 1984, the hostel was shifted to its new building, put up at the new Ashrama complex of the Mission at Hanumanthaputheri at a cost of nearly Rs 30 Lakhs. All the boys are looked after by the monastic members of thye Mission. In the year 2000, hostel was abolished and an orphanage was started. At present we have 100 students.
To help the poor students who study in our Boys’ Hr Secondary School, a hostel is maintained in the name Swami Sankarananda Boys’ Hostel.
The boys who stay in the hostel get all-round training in various activities of the Ashrama. They learn singing, chanting, games (both Indoor and Outdoor), serving in the dining hall, maintaining cleanliness etc.
Special care is taken to provide well balanced nutritious food. Those who get education and training can stand on their own feet when they complete their education.
